Steps to install syncables on Ubuntu (Ubuntu 8.04, Ubuntu 9.04) System Requirements: Java 6.14 - http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp Flash 10 - (Adobe website) Air 1.5 - (Adobe website) 1. Start terminal (Application/Accessories/Terminal) 2. Go to installation folder (type "cd folder name/folder name) e.g. Folder with installer is in /Home/UserFolder/Documents - open terminal (under home folder, by default) - type "cd Documents/Folder Name with installer - type "chmod 777 syncablesdesktop_USB_withoutVM.bin" (or in Explorer view: right click at syncablesdesktop_USB_withoutVM.bin, choose "properties:permissions" and check "allow executing file as program" 3. Enter "sh syncablesdesktp_USP_withoutVM.bin", Click Enter Installer will open and guides you through installation. Use default setting (install folder is /home/user folder/syncables/syncables desktop, link folder is "in your home folder"). Click on 'install" button Syncables will be installed under /Home/User folder/syncables/syncables desktop and desktop icon will be placed on the Desktop For launching syncables desktop: double click on Desktop icon "syncables desktop" Notes: Java Runtime environment should be installed User must use the single/same partition for "/" and for "/home"
